A Conversation with Omer Shem Tov

Registration for A Conversation with Omer Shem Tov is now closed. Thank you for the tremendous interest in this special evening at Penn State Hillel. We are grateful to everyone joining us as we come together to hear Omer’s story of resilience, hope, and the power of human connection. We look forward to welcoming our registered guests this evening.

Penn State Hillel is honored to welcome Omer Shem Tov to campus for a meaningful conversation with our community. Omer, who was taken hostage by Hamas on October 7, 2023 and held in captivity for 505 days before his release, will share his story of resilience, hope, and the power of human connection.

This event is free for Penn State students as are all Hillel events due to generous donations from our community and partner organizations.

Community Members, Faculty, Parents & Alumni: your ticket helps make this evening possible—from bringing Omer Shem Tov to Penn State to providing event security and creating a meaningful experience for students and our broader community.

This evening offers Penn State students, community members, faculty, parents and alumni an opportunity to listen, learn, and come together around a story that has touched Jewish communities around the world. At a time when so many are searching for ways to understand the events of October 7 and their impact, we hope this conversation creates space for reflection, connection, and meaningful dialogue. We are extremely grateful to bring Omer to Penn State and to create an experience that students and community members will carry with them long after the evening ends. This is an in-person event at Penn State Hillel in State College, PA. Security guidelines prohibit us from live-streaming this program.

For security purposes, each attendee over the age of 16 must bring a photo ID. Attendees under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. We will have increased security at Penn State Hillel. In addition, there is a strict no photo or recording policy to protect the safety of Omer, our students, staff and community members in attendance.
