SUMMARY:Women Crush Wednesday with Yasmine Shabbo
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin Miami Student\, Emily Garforth '21 and Hillel at Miami Executive Director\, Whitney Fisch\, as they engage in conversation with Yasmine Shabbo\, a full-time mother and wife with a mission to address discrimination and Jewish culture. Learn how a woman who identifies with multiple minority groups uses her platform to give underrepresented voices a chance to shine. We'll learn how Yasmine used food to speak out against cultural appropriation and educate Jews and non-Jews alike about Jewish politics and culture. Q & A will follow the 40 minute interview.\n\nLearn more about Yasmine through her Instagram pages (@yasmine.dreamz and @ethnically_jewish) which she keeps as a journal to share experiences\, observations\, and ways she believes we can make our community better.\n\nWomen Crush Wednesday is a speakers series running Wednesdays during the second semester of the 2020-2021 school year\, organized by Hillel at Miami University. Student leaders will be interviewing a variety of women Jewish leaders in a wide range of industries.\n\n\n
