Mishloach Manot, Purim gifts, for the IDF soldiers.

In Israel it is a very common tradition to send mischloach manot to the soldiers during Purim. Many people from around Israel, especially those in school and university,  to collect items for a gift baskets.

This year, Penn State Hillel will collect items for mischloach manot. The collection period will remain open until the Friday before spring break, March 4. The box will be located in room 123 of the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center.

Here’s how it works:

Option 1 (preferred option): create a small gift bag containing small gifts (candy, gum, cards, book, etc), wrap it up and attach a short note and your contact. The solider that receives your gift is eager to be in touch with you to say thanks!

Option 2: drop off items for a general gift basket (the box in the Pasq.)- candy, books, magazine, games, etc.

Itai, Hillel’s Israel fellow will mail the gifts to a commander in the IDF (his close friend) and the commander will distribute the gifts to his soldiers.
