How We Observe Israel’s Memorial Day
| Join Penn State Hillel’s Israel Fellow, Alona Lipetz, for a conversation around Israel’s Memorial Day (Yom Hazikaron – April 30-May 1). We will be discussing what it means for an Israeli to serve his/her country in the Israel Defense Forces and his/her day-to-day commitment as a soldier. We will also explore what it means to live in a country that is continuously struck by terror and what we can do, as allies, to honor those who have fallen during service.
The night will include an episode of Fauda, and first-hand accounts from Israeli Penn Staters who served in the IDF. |
