Penn State Freshman Sendoff 2017

Are you headed to Penn State this fall for your first year of college and reside in Montgomery County, Bucks County, or Philadelphia? If so, Penn State Hillel would like to invite you and your parents to the annual Freshman Sendoff, co-hosted by the Penn State alumni association chapters of Montgomery County, Bucks County, and Philadelphia. Join us Sunday, August 6th from 11:30AM to 3:00 PM at Penn State Abington. This is a free event for all incoming freshmen to any of Penn State’s 20 campuses and their families.

The Day Of:

Incoming first-year students will separated into groups by the campuses they will be attending. Freshmen and their families will enjoy a pizza lunch.  Then freshmen will get questions answered by current students and embark on a scavenger hunt around the campus learning more about Penn State on the hunt.  Afterwards everyone will come back for time to mix and mingle and enjoy dessert.

Parents: Come and ask questions about Penn State and meet other Penn State parents.  We will be holding programs for first time Penn State parents including a financial aid Q&A and a session presented by current Penn State Parents about helping them navigate the complexities of freshman campus life including what to expect on move-in day, how to choose a meal plan, when to start looking and how to find an apartment, how to get football tickets, and so much more.

++ Look out for Penn State Hillel to learn about Jewish life on campus!

For additional information, please contact Fran at [email protected] or Dan at [email protected].

Please RSVP by Tuesday, August 1st.  We look forward to meeting you and sending you away to college in true “We Are” fashion.

P.S. Penn Staters always give back to their community.  We would like to ask all families to bring non-perishable food items as a donation to the Penn State Abington Campus Lion Share food bank for students who are experiencing food deficits.
