Judith Heumann led a 28-day sit-in in 1977 that led to the signing of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, which was the first federal civil rights law that protected people with disabilities. She went on to work in the Clinton and Obama administrations and more recently was highlighted in the Netflix documentary Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution, available to watch on YouTube.
