Dr. Shira Efron is a visiting scholar at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) in Tel Aviv, a Special Advisor on Israel with the RAND Corporation, and a policy advisor at Israel Policy Forum. Her current research focuses on the U.S.’s policy toward the Middle East, including the Arab-Israeli-Arab conflict and the implications of Israel’s evolving ties with China for Israeli and U.S. national security. In addition, Dr. Efron has led studies on the nexus between climate change and national security, food security and resource scarcity in the Middle East.
Rabbi Yehuda Sarna is the Executive Director of the Bronfman Center for Jewish Student Life at New York University (NYU), the University Chaplain for NYU, an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Public Administration in the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, and Chief Rabbi of the United Arab Emirates. Rabbi Sarna is a 2003 graduate of the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary. At NYU, he founded the Jewish Learning Fellowship, which offers intensive study for students without yeshiva backgrounds. He has worked to strengthen interfaith relationships and Jewish community at NYU.
