Title: Springboard Fellow
Matt is a third generation, born and bred Atlantian. Matt just concluded teaching English in a Haifa elementary school on Masa Israel Teaching Fellows. Before living in Israel, Matt led Atlanta’s Congregation Etz Chaim’s K-12 Youth Programming. Matt graduated in December of 2015 from Georgia State University, with a Bachelor if Science in Public Management & Policy with a minor in International Affairs, and a concentration in Nonprofit Management. Growing up, Matt was very involved in Atlanta’s Jewish community where he attended Camp Barney Medintz for seven years as a camper and one year as the Head Judaics Specialist. As an active participant in BBYO, NFTY, NCSY, and JSU Matt’s passion for development of one’s Jewish Identity and Israel activism flourished. In college he was very active in Georgia State’s Jewish community. He was a committed member of Hillel, Alpha Epsilon Pi, Chabad, Panthers for Israel, and served as the Jewish Community Laison for the Student Diversity Committee for GSU’s Student Government. Matt has been to Israel multiple times, including studying in a Yeshiva in Jerusalem. Matt is an avid outdoorsman where he enjoys hiking, camping, napping in his Eno hammock, and meditating in front of the sunset. Matt is a history buff & is passionate about protecting our fellow animals. Matt is beyond excited to join the Penn State Hillel family and community. Matt cannot wait to help mold the leadership and development of Penn State’s Jewish leaders!
